Well this week we are switching things up a bit. I wanted to take some time to share about our son Oliver. Oliver was born on October 14, 2015 at 8pm. It was a wonderful delivery without any complications but as Ethan laid him on my chest, it was clear that something wasn’t quite right with his left cheek. This began a crazy adventure of doctors appointments and specialists.
Oliver has what the doctors call a Lymphatic Malformation on the left side of his face. It is a grouping of multiple small and large fluid filled sacks. There aren’t too many options for Ollie. Most often parents opt to wait and see what happens as their children get bigger. For Ollie, infection within his cheek is a high possibility. Ethan and I decided that surgery was our option.
With that in mind and all of the pre-operation appointments done, we are on the eve of his surgery. Although it is not an invasive procedure, my heart is still a mess with the thought that my baby is having surgery. We know he is in God’s hands but we ask for your prayers and thoughts as we embark on another part of this adventure.
Thank you for sharing your story, Hannah. You and your family are in our prayers through this. Have courage and be kind. 💙

Praying for you today as your little guy goes into surgery! Gracious and merciful Father, be with Ollie and keep him safe. May he have minimal pain and discomfort and recover swiftly. Strengthen him and keep infection away from his little body. Guide the hands of the surgeon(s) and give them wisdom as they seek to correct this condition. Give Hannah and Ethan peace and the knowledge of your presence, sovereignty and sufficiency today especially!
We know that with You all things are possible and that you are faithful to your promises! Bless this family.
Show us your glory today Father and may we honor you with our praise and thanks for your power and goodness! Amen.

I know you don’t know me personally, but my family and I have been friends with the Bohlmans for a long time. Praying for all of you. All three of my children have had to have some type of surgery, so my heart goes out to you as I know exactly how you feel. Praying for the doctors as well and for a quick recovery. Thank you so much for sharing.
